Low Income Assistance

Farmers Market Nutrition Program for WIC and Senior customers:

We continue to ACCEPT and HONOR both WIC and Senior FMNP (Farmers Market Nutrition Program) checks at the Salmon Creek at Legacy market, Camas Farmers Market and Vancouver Farmers Markets.  These checks can be used for the purchase of produce only; Seniors can purchase honey with the FMNP check as well. Markets will begin accepting these checks as of June 1 – and throughout the season until October 31. This assistance is available to lower-income WIC clients (Women with Infants and Children up to 5), and Seniors over the age of 60.  For information on how to access this assistance, here are phone numbers:

SNAP and MarketMatch: Making it easier to get fresh, local, healthy foods.

Use your SNAP (food stamps) benefits at the Salmon Creek Farmers’ Markets following these easy steps:

  1. Visit the Info/EBT/debit/credit booth
  2. Receive wooden tokens as “market money” when you swipe your EBT card
  3. Use your tokens to buy any fresh, local, healthy foods.

Remember that SNAP benefits cannot be used to purchase non-food items, ready-to-eat foods or hot foods.  The Salmon Creek Farmers’ Market offers MarketMatch, a USDA-funded program that matches up to $40 of your EBT transaction with MarketMatch bucks, enabling you to buy additional fruits and vegetables.
